Beroepen in de gezondheidszorg
Van oudsher is een belangrijke beleidsvraag of er ook in de toekomst voldoende zorgverleners beschikbaar zijn. Hiervoor is informatie vereist over vraagontwikkelingen binnen de bevolking, zoals demografische en epidemiologische ontwikkelingen, maar ook informatie  over zorgverleners zelf, hun precieze aantallen, hoeveel ze werkzaam zijn en wat ze doen. Vooral in de uitvoering van zorgtaken vinden de laatste jaren veel veranderingen plaats. Nieuwe beroepen ontstaan en zetten de oude  taakverdelingen onder druk, veelal uit het oogpunt van efficiëntiewinst en mede gestimuleerd door de overheid en zorgverzekeraars. Belangrijke vragen binnen dit onderzoeksprogramma  zijn onder meer welke oplossingen er bestaan voor mogelijke tekorten in de toekomst, welke rol ICT, innovatie en een andere organisatie van de zorg hierbij spelen en welke ontwikkelingen in de opleidingen plaatsvinden om aan de veranderende zorgvraag tegemoet te komen.

Dr. Ronald Batenburg (1964) obtained his masters in Sociology at Utrecht University and his PhD in Social Sciences at Groningen University. Since then, he worked at the Social and Cultural Planning Office as research fellow, at Utrecht University as post-doc researcher, at Tilburg University, and Nijmegen University as assistant professor, as associate professor at Utrecht University and as senior research consultant at Dialogic Innovation and Interaction. Since April 2009, he is program coordinator health care and manpower planning at NIVEL, the Netherlands Institute for Health Services Research. His research areas are labour market studies and transitions, as well as the socio-organizational aspects of ICT.
