Growing proportion of Dutch nurses are prescribing over-the-counter medication
In 2022, the proportion of Dutch nurses prescribing over-the-counter (OTC) medication was higher than ten years before, in 2012. Examples of OTC medication are aspirin or eye drops. Many other medical tasks and procedures were not performed more frequently or less frequently than a decade before. These findings are based on research among participants in Nivel's national Nursing Staff Panel on possible shifts in a range of medical tasks performed by nurses.
