Nivel-research shows how to navigate the collaboration between cancer patients, informal caregivers and researchers

Patient and public involvement (PPI) is an essential part of health research. Genuine involvement of patients and relatives not only ensures that the research is relevant for them, but it also improves research quality and impact. However, navigating this complex and dynamic process can be challenging. To provide guidance and inspiration to researchers working together with patients and relatives, we developed a protocol in which we describe how we carry out PPI in our successful European research project “Quality of Life in Oncology: measuring what matters for cancer patients and survivors in Europe (EUonQoL)”.
