Het voorkómen van nierinsufficiëntie na het toedienen van contrastvloeistof staat op de agenda in ziekenhuizen. De identificatie van hoog-risicopatiënten voor contrastnefropathie wordt toegepast, maar de daaropvolgende preventiemaatregel van het VMS Veiligheidsprogramma namelijk hydratie van deze patiënten kan beter geïmplementeerd worden.
