Ethnic differences in self-rated health in the Netherlands.

Devillé, W., Westert, G. Ethnic differences in self-rated health in the Netherlands. Ethnicity & Health: 2004, 9(sup. 1) s89-s90. Abstract. "Migrant health in Europe'. International conference on differences in health care provision, 23-25 June, 2004, Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Self-rated health is a good predictor of morbidity, mortality and use of care. It can be measured by one simple question. Included in many surveys, it makes measurements of general health comparable between countries. But health measures may be different between different cultures. Therefore self-rated health and the association with several determinants are compared between native Dutch and several major migrant populations in the Netherlands. (aut.ref.)
